Afsin- Elbistan Power Station, Turkey

This US$1.6 billion turnkey project, located within the Afsin Elbistan lignite fields and at an elevation of approximately 1200m, requires the construction of a four-unit 1.44GW power station for the state power authority.

ICC are assisting the international consortia constructing the power station; and their legal advisors, with the technical and insurance aspects of this multi-million dollar claim.  The claim, arising from frost and ice damage to the electrical control panels for two of the four power generation units had been  previously repudiated by the project insurers / reinsurers.

Construction of the generating units
