Puerto Cabello-La
Encrucijada Railway, Venezuela
This US$1.8 billion 108km
long railway provides a strategic link between Venezuela’s principal
port, the industrial cities of Maracay and Valencia and, ultimately,
Caracas. The project requires the construction of seven
stations, 14 tunnels to 6.8km, 33 viaducts/bridges with a total
length of 25km, 10,000,000 cubic metres of earthworks, two inter-ports and
three train storage depots / workshops.
ICC are providing
expert services to a consortia member constructing the railway and
are currently undertaking the claims management and negotiation in
relation to a major claim, previously repudiated by the project
insurers, arising from storm damage to access roads and other construction related infrastructure. |
