Line 1 of the Metro is
currently under construction, at a cost of US$240 million, and comprises
7.8km of track, largely in tunnel, and eight
stations.
September 2004 saw the
inundation of the Works through the invert. The associated loss of
material raised particular concerns as to the potential for surface
subsidence.
ICC was retained by
the Contractor to handle all issues relating to the resulting
insurance claim including the engineering justification of the
Contractor's emergency response and the consequent scope of the
claim; thereafter, defining, costing and negotiating settlement
of the claim against insurers for all costs incurred as a result of
the incident.
