Barcelona Metro,
Line 9, currently under construction, is a major expansion of this
important city’s public transport infrastructure. This 41km long
US$2.4B project includes 34km of tunnel, 43 stations and numerous
interchanges with existing metro and high-speed rail lines and the
airport.
ICC was retained to
undertake a detailed assessment of the damage to the cutter-head of
the 12.06m dia EPBM-TBM excavating the Gorg - Segrera section of the
alignment through fluvial alluvium, Miocene and Granite; and
to identify, with appropriate justification, the probable cause of
the damage and the likely timescale over which the damage occurred.
